Do Singapore passport holders need a visa for Indonesia?

No visa to apply for. Singapore passport holders enter Indonesia without one. Every passenger still files the arrival card, ferry arrivals included: Batam’s international ports were among the first to require it, from 1 September 2025, and every seaport from 1 October 2025.

Taking the ferry to Batam or Bintan?

On the form, choose SEA under Mode of Transport, FERRY under Type of Vessel, and type the ship’s name. Terminals go by their listed names: in Batam, BCR - BATAM CENTRE FERRY TERMINAL, CTT - CITRA TRITUNAS PORT (HARBOUR BAY), and SKP - SEKUPANG PORT; on Bintan, LAI - BANDAR BENTAN TELANI LAGOI PORT for Lagoi and SBP - SRI BINTAN PURA PORT for Tanjung Pinang.

How long can I stay without a visa?

Singapore is on Indonesia’s visa-exempt list. The stay is up to 30 days, and it can’t be extended or changed into another permit. There is no fee: the Directorate General of Immigration lists it at Rp0.

Part of my family holds Singapore PR, not citizenship. Do they need a visa for Batam or Bintan?
Not for a short trip there. Foreign nationals with Singapore permanent residence can visit Batam, Bintan, and Karimun without a visa for up to 4 days, arriving through listed ports that include Nongsa Terminal Bahari, Marina Teluk Senimba, Batam Centre, Citra Tri Tunas, Sekupang, Sri Bintan Pura, Bandar Bentan Telani Lagoi, and Tanjung Balai Karimun. They still file the arrival card, like every passenger.
