What is the  SG Arrival Card (SGAC)?

The SG Arrival Card is Singapore’s free online arrival declaration, with the health declaration built in. Every foreign visitor submits one within 3 days before arriving, arrival day included. Residents submit only when arriving by air or sea. Submit it on the official e-Service or the MyICA Mobile app. It is not a visa.

Is the SG Arrival Card a visa?

No. It is the electronic version of Singapore’s paper disembarkation/embarkation (DE) card, the old white card, run by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) with a health declaration built in.

  • Whether you need a visa depends on your passport, and the SG Arrival Card is a separate submission either way
  • The health declaration rides along in the same submission, and a false one is an offense under the Infectious Diseases Act
  • ICA’s two official channels are its SG Arrival Card e-Service and the MyICA Mobile app

Who needs to submit the SG Arrival Card?

Required

  • Every foreign visitor, including In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter holders
  • Residents arriving by air or sea file the health declaration only

Not required

  • Transit or transfer without clearing immigration
  • Residents crossing at Woodlands or Tuas Checkpoint

Residents means Singapore citizens, permanent residents (PRs), and holders of a Student’s Pass, Dependant’s Pass, Long-Term Visit Pass, or Work Pass. The land exemption is theirs alone: foreign visitors crossing at Woodlands or Tuas still submit.

When can I submit the SG Arrival Card?

3 days

Within the three days before you arrive, and your arrival day counts as one of them. ICA’s own example: arriving on 30 June, you can submit from 28 June.

The date it asks for is the day you enter Singapore, not the day you leave home. Crossing more than once in those three days? One individual submission can hold up to three trips.

What is the official SG Arrival Card website?

eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard

ICA is the only issuer, and it says so plainly: it does not support or endorse commercial services that submit the SG Arrival Card for a fee.

If the address bar does not say eservices.ica.gov.sg, you are not on ICA’s SG Arrival Card service. ICA also runs an enhanced version at eservices.ica.gov.sg/arrivalcard/sgac; its banner says you may submit on either version, and “only one submission is required per trip.” The MyICA Mobile app is its other official channel.

Why does Singapore ask for the SG Arrival Card?

ICA calls it one of the basic entry requirements to visit Singapore, and says the health declaration is there for disease control, “to guard against importing diseases of concern”. The email address you give matters too: after you clear immigration, ICA sends your e-Pass, the visit pass that replaced the passport stamp, to that address.

Is the SG Arrival Card free?

Yes. ICA charges nothing for it, and the MyICA Mobile app is free to download.

Do I need the SG Arrival Card from JB or Batam?

Crossing from Johor by car, bus, or train, foreign visitors still submit the SG Arrival Card. Arriving by ferry or cruise and clearing immigration, everyone submits it, residents included.

  • Singapore’s land checkpoints are Woodlands Checkpoint, Tuas Checkpoint, and Woodlands Train Checkpoint, and foreign visitors submit the SG Arrival Card at all three. About Woodlands and Tuas, ICA says: “All foreign visitors passing through the land checkpoints using the QR code or passport … are still required to submit their Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC).”
  • Traveling by car, motorcycle, lorry, or bus through Woodlands or Tuas, you can clear the checkpoint with a MyICA QR code instead of your passport. It replaces showing the passport, not the SG Arrival Card, and ICA says first-time foreign visitors to Singapore still show their passport.
  • Ferry and cruise passengers arrive at sea checkpoints such as Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and Singapore Cruise Centre (HarbourFront). The residents’ exemption stops at Woodlands and Tuas: residents arriving by sea submit the health declaration.
  • On the form, choose LAND, then BUS, CAR, LORRY, MOTORCYCLE, RAIL, or VAN, and give the Vehicle Number. By sea, choose SEA, then FERRY, CRUISE, COMMERCIAL VESSEL, or PRIVATE CRAFT.
  • No vehicle number because you’re on a bus or train? ICA’s texts differ: its FAQ says to enter “TRAIN” or “BUS” under Vehicle Number, while its enhanced form’s text says you may indicate “BUS” or “RAIL”.

Whichever way you come, the same three-day window applies.

Can I change my SG Arrival Card after submitting it?

Most details
Use “Update SG Arrival Card” before the record expires, which is after your arrival date or once you’ve made the trip, whichever is earlier. You need the reference number from your acknowledgment email and your passport details; in the MyICA Mobile app, tap “Edit” on the trip

These can’t be updated. Submit a new card: ICA says the new one supersedes the earlier one

FAQ

Do I need an SG Arrival Card if I’m only transiting?
Not if you transit or transfer without clearing immigration. If you do clear immigration, even for a short stop, you submit one.
I’m a Singapore PR or Work Pass holder. Do I need to submit it?
Only when you arrive by air or sea, and then only the health declaration. Crossing at Woodlands or Tuas Checkpoint, residents don’t submit one.
I’m driving or taking the bus from Johor Bahru. Do I need one?
Yes, as a foreign visitor, even if you clear the checkpoint with a MyICA QR code instead of your passport. ICA says all foreign visitors passing through the land checkpoints are still required to submit it.
I’m taking the ferry from Batam. Do I need one?
Yes. The residents’ exemption covers only Woodlands and Tuas, so arriving by sea, foreign visitors submit the full card and Singapore residents submit the health declaration.
Can I use the MyICA Mobile app instead of the website?
Yes. ICA names the SG Arrival Card e-Service and the MyICA Mobile app as its two official channels, and the app is free to download. It has its own Group Submission section, and you change a submitted trip there with “Edit”.
Can I submit the SG Arrival Card for my family?
Yes. ICA says you may submit it on behalf of others. On the website, one Group Submission covers up to 10 people traveling together on one trip, with most trip details copied from the lead traveler. Each e-Pass goes to the email address on that person’s card, and ICA says a proxy must make sure it is received.
What happens if I arrive without submitting it?
ICA says two different things. Its entry requirements page warns that travelers who fail to submit it “may be denied entry into Singapore.” Its other guidance says you will be required to submit it on arrival before immigration clearance, and to re-join the queue.
What do I show at immigration?
Your passport: ICA’s guide says to present your travel document, and one ICA answer says travelers “will only need to produce their passports.” Another ICA answer says to show the acknowledgment email on your phone or a printout, so keep it to hand. ICA also asks visitors to hold a passport valid for at least six months.
I can’t find my acknowledgment email. What now?
Check your spam or junk folder. The email carries your DE number, and ICA says you can also download the acknowledgment as a PDF from the e-Service.
How do I avoid a fake SG Arrival Card website?
Check the address: ICA says its official websites and e-Service addresses always contain “.ica.gov.sg”. Its advisory dated 17 March 2026 lists 63 websites that offer to submit the card for a fee, which ICA does not support.
Should I use the current or the enhanced version of the e-Service?
Either. ICA says you may submit on the current or the enhanced version, and “only one submission is required per trip.” Our field-by-field walkthrough follows the older one, which ICA calls “current”, at eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard.

What do I need to do before arriving in Singapore?
