Do Singapore passport holders need a visa for Vietnam?

No visa to apply for. Singapore passport holders enter Vietnam without one. The Vietnam Pre-Arrival Declaration is a separate step before you fly. Ho Chi Minh City’s immigration office announced it as required for Tan Son Nhat airport, while Vietnam’s embassies have called it voluntary and its Immigration Department now highly recommends it.

What are Vietnam’s conditions for visa-free entry?

Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists visa-free stays of up to 30 days for ordinary Singapore passports, on conditions: the passport has at least six months left, you hold a return or onward ticket, you can pay for your stay, and you meet what your next country requires, visa included.

The exemption does not apply if you enter Vietnam to take up paid work.

Choose Bilateral exemption under Visa Type / Purpose. The form then stops requiring the Number box; leave it empty.

What has Vietnam’s embassy in Singapore said about the declaration?
In a notice dated 2 July 2026, it names five airports that take the declaration: Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, and Phu Quoc. It says “travellers are encouraged to complete the declaration within three days prior to arrival or upon arrival”. Singapore’s own embassy in Hanoi passed on the same advice on 25 June 2026.
