Do India passport holders need a visa for Singapore?

ICA: “You will need a visa to enter Singapore if you are holding a travel document issued by this country.” Holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports don’t need one.

ICA lists a non-refundable S$30 processing fee, paid online, and says applications are processed within three working days, not counting the day you submit.

Singapore’s High Commission in New Delhi states them differently: a non-refundable INR 2100 processing fee, plus a Rs.1300 service fee its authorized visa agents may charge, and generally 3 to 5 working days.

The High Commission adds that you don’t need to buy a flight ticket before applying.

Possibly, for up to 96 hours. If you’re in transit to or from a third country, ICA says you may be eligible for the Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF) with an onward air, ferry, or cruise ticket leaving Singapore within 96 hours, and a valid visa or long-term pass, valid for at least a month from entry, issued by or good for entry into Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, or the United States. You “may enter Singapore by any mode of transport but depart only via air or sea”.

Neither a visa nor VFTF? The High Commission: “An Indian traveller who is not in possession of a valid Singapore visa and not eligible for VFTF, will not be allowed to enter Singapore.”

On the SG Arrival Card, the Purpose of Travel list has an option for it: “1-day Transit/Visa Free Transit Facility (VFTF)”.

Singapore’s High Commission in New Delhi asks you to “enter a valid email when submitting the SG Arrival Card”. That is where ICA sends your e-Pass after you clear immigration.

Answer YES to the question about current symptoms, and a follow-up asks whether you visited places including India (Kerala or West Bengal) in the past 21 days. Answer NO, and that question doesn’t appear.
